9th October 2008 Print
Luxury travel company Grand Tourist will be launching their new range of Greek travel experiences at one of the UK’s largest luxury travel fairs. Grand Tourist, who ask their clients to follow in the footsteps of the original travellers of the 18th and 19th century, is launching its Greek Palace experience at this year’s Conde Nast Luxury Travel Fair at Olympia. This year, Grand Tourist has also launched Ferrari driving experiences, white truffle-hunting in Piedmont and Ischia island tours in Italy.

Grand Tourist, which specialises in the finest that Europe has to offer, launches its new range of travel experiences at the Luxury Travel Fair in London from Thursday November 6 to Sunday November 9.

At the eastern end of the Mediterranean nestling in the north-east corner of Greece, Grand Tourist has discovered Imaret, a magnificent historic palace nestling in the atmospheric town of Kavala. Here you can relax in an ‘east meets west’ haven of outdoor courtyards with sparkling fountains, copper-domed skylines and breath-taking roof terraces, a masterpiece of late Ottoman architecture.

Chester-based Grand Tourist offers the finest of European culture; gourmet dining in rural France, hot-air ballooning in Burgundy, private chateaux and garden visits in the Loire. Whilst in Italy the art of Florence, Venice and Rome is there to enjoy.

Director of Grand Tourist Janet Simmonds said:

“It is fitting to launch our new Greek range of experiences at Olympia in London, whose namesake was the home of the Greek Gods. Grand Tourists will feel like gods as they stay at Imaret Palace in North Eastern Greece, where the scenery is spectacular and an archaeological experience of a lifetime awaits. As part of the experience, Grand Tourists will also enjoy a boat trip to Mount Athos to see the incredible perched monasteries.

“The four day Condé Nast Luxury Travel Fair is a fantastic opportunity for Grand Tourist to launch the new range of tailor-made travel experiences with style. I want to share my love of travel and my knowledge of Europe; to help people to discover the hidden gems of France, Italy and the Alps, to introduce clients to new restaurants, luxurious country houses and welcoming vineyards, where a private tasting or a tour is never too much trouble! It’s really my mission to introduce these fascinating places to my valued clients. For me it’s about rediscovering the art of travel. We specialise in designing unique and magical, tailor-made journeys for clients and small groups.”

Grand Tourist offers a range of travel guides for London, Paris, Geneva, Rome and Venice, the European cities visited by the original Grand Tourists. These guides provide ideas for the modern visitor including restaurants, sight-seeing, bars, galleries and museums.

Grand Tourist will be exhibiting at stand P32 at the National Hall, Olympia, as part of the Condé Nast Luxury Travel Fair. The exhibition opens from 10am to 6pm.
