GapGuru develops ‘Credit Crunch Proof’ gap year scheme

16th October 2008 Print
GapGuru, the India gap year expert, is searching for school leavers, graduates and career breakers to take part in its Interns4India programme. Interns4India is a business placement programme, limited to 10 participants, which will see them spend six months working as voice, accent and culture coaches in a leading offshore business processing solution provider in Bangalore, Southern India.

Arvind Malhotra, Managing Director of GapGuru explains:

“GapGuru works with a number of offshore companies in India which provide business solutions to global corporations including British multinationals. The Interns4India scheme has been developed to allow graduates, career breakers or those just looking for a change to achieve valuable career experience, gain transferable skills, enhance their CVs and explore the beautiful country of India.”

Gappers will spend the six months working as part of team providing inputs on accents, and cultural nuances and identifying communication gaps within business processes, as well as planning and running training sessions on UK culture, language and accents.

Booked before 31st October 2008, the Interns4India programme will cost £2,030 and will include flights and insurance free of charge, accommodation and in-country transport. Gappers will also earn around £300 per month for the work they put in, so they earn back a large proportion of the cost of the programme whilst they’re out there.

Arvind adds: “With many people having to think carefully about whether they can even take a gap year with the doom and gloom of the credit crunch and recent rises in tuition fees for university students, the Interns4India scheme provides a financially realistic option for all would-be gappers.”
