Welcome to Jewish Berlin
For the first time, 20 Jewish community leaders from the UK undertook a journey to discover Berlin’s past and present Jewish community. The trip was organised by the German National Tourist Office in partnership with Lufthansa and Berlin Tourism as part of the “Discover Jewish Germany” campaign. The itinerary featured topics such as “Remembering the Holocaust”, “Jewish Berlin”, “City Centre and the Jewish Museum” or “Jewish Revival in Berlin”. Among others, the group visited the Jewish Museum, the Holocaust Memorial and the Wannsee Conference Villa as well as the Grunewald Memorial and met with local Jews and prominent German Jewish personalities. The aim of the trip was to promote the concept of visiting Jewish Germany to the UK Jewry.
A film documenting the trip is now online on the German National Tourist Office Website - Germany-tourism.co.uk.
