Poland is a literary stocking filler

3rd December 2008 Print
A new children’s book has hit the shelves in time for Christmas called P is for Poland. The book, aimed at 6 to 10 year olds, is the work of Prodeepta Das who hopes to educate youngsters about Poland and its rich cultural heritage.

Prodeepta said, “The book attempts to introduce Poland to children in the West through each letter of the alphabet depicting something quintessential about the country. It presents a true and warm picture of Poland.”

Polish-born linguist Agnieszka Mrowczynska helped Prodeepta with the book’s text with the duo receiving unstinting support from Ewa Binkin and the Polish National Tourist Office.

P Is For Poland follows on the back of other successful titles for Prodeepta and publishers Frances Lincoln, who are hoping that kapliczka, makowiec, oscypek and wydmy are a big hit with children and their parents this Christmas.

P Is For Poland is available through any bookshop, Amazon.co.uk or direct from the publishers and is priced £11.99.
