Travellers stay cheek-to-cheek with loved ones

4th December 2008 Print
Travellers stay cheek-to-cheek with loved ones 58% of business travellers said their partner or loved-one was the thing they missed most when away from home, a survey has revealed.* In response, Hotels.com has launched a new service – Picture Pillows – that enables business travellers to send in a photo of a loved one for Hotels.com to turn into a bespoke pillow case.

The new service means that business men and women will be able to drift off to sleep next to their loved one even when they are away from home.

Alison Couper, Director of Communications for Hotels.com, says: “As a frequent traveller myself, I know how tough it can be to be separated from partners and kids.

“While this might not be quite the same as falling asleep next to your loved one, we hope that this reminder of home will bring a smile to those business travellers who have to be away from friends and family – particularly over Christmas.”

Hotels.com’s new service is being trialled in the run up to Christmas and the first 100 travellers to email a picture of their loved one to pillowphotos@hotels.com will receive their personalised pillow case.

Hotels.com itself has seen a 600% increase in the numbers of solo travellers using its website over the past four years – indicating a surge in the numbers of businesses that have turned to the web in search of hotels while away from home.
