Nations join forces to create European Water Sports Federation
The Spanish Water Sports Association has joined forces with the France Station Nautique to create the European Water Sports Federation. The aim of the federation is to deliver a consistent high level of quality and service across all water sports outlets throughout Spain and France and improve the development of tourism in coastal and lakeside locations. The Spanish Water Sports Association and the France Station Nautique bring together over 64 tourist destinations specialising in a range of different water sports. All members have earned an official seal of quality guaranteeing a consistent high level of professionalism, safety and service.
By joining forces, the European Water Sports Federation hopes to create consistent dialogue between the countries in order to share expertise across borders and encourage the best possible practise. In addition to this, the Federation will collaborate with the European Union by offering advice and recommendations on nautical tourism and yachting and lobby for the standardisation of regulations and the development of training courses throughout Europe to create a strong and trustworthy European brand.
Mr Joan Albert Campos, President of the Spanish Water Sports Association and Vice President of the European Water Sports Federation quotes: “By acting together, we are strengthening the representation of Water Sports Centres both on a national and international level. We hope that the collaboration of the Spanish and French associations will be a catalyst for new members who can bring their expertise to the Federation so that further synergies can be developed in a structured manner.”
