Shakespeare Country launches new travel trade microsite
Shakespeare Country will be talking about the key benefits of its new travel trade microsite at the ‘Best of Britain & Ireland’ exhibition from 26 – 29 March at ExCel in London. Along with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the award-winning art gallery Compton Verney, Shakespeare Country will also be showcasing the region as a premier tourist destination for groups and independent visitors. This is the first time that the Shakespeare Country Travel Trade and Groups Desk has had its own dedicated section on the destination website. The microsite, which is a vital tool for anyone planning a group visit to the area, has a number of key functionalities. Visitors can access information on group accommodation, group itinerary suggestions, group rates for attractions, event listings, education programmes and travel/transport information. Visitors can also request a brochure and subscribe to an e-newsletter which details latest product and event news, as well as special offers and competitions relevant to the trade and groups market. The website address can be found at shakespeare-country.co.uk/groups.
The microsite has so far proved to be extremely effective in promoting Shakespeare Country to the travel trade and has already generated a number of high profile group booking enquiries. The Shakespeare Country website is one of the most popular destination websites in the UK. Last year the website won a number of prestigious industry awards and saw a sharp increase of 122% year on year in the number of unique visitors to the site.
In addition to talking about the new microsite, the team will be on hand to provide individual advice and information with planning or booking accommodation, theatre tickets and visits to attractions. The dedicated Travel Trade and Groups Desk is able to offer group rates and discounted attraction tickets for independent travellers as well as offering a free accommodation booking service.
Along with the Best of Britain & Ireland exhibition, Shakespeare Country will also be exhibiting at Travel Trade Britain at the NEC in Birmingham from 3 – 4 March along with the Royal Shakespeare Company, Compton Verney, Holiday Inn Redditch and the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust.
