Audi range secures its fourth Thatcham win

Audi A5 Cabriolet The impregnability of models across the Audi range has been judged worthy of the top award in the British Insurance Vehicle Security Awards for the fourth consecutive year. At the annual BIVSA Awards, held this week at the Motor Insurance Repair Research Centre in Thatcham, Berkshire, Audi not only received the overall Manufacturer of the Year Award for offering the most model ranges that fully satisfy the awards selection criteria, but also achieved three category wins.

The continued tenure by Audi of the top BIVSA award highlights the fact that the brand offers more ranges in which every variant has achieved a five star rating for ‘theft of’ security and of at least four stars for ‘theft from’ security than any other entrant.

In addition to this all-encompassing award, Audi models were also voted best-in-class in three of the specific model categories assessed by the experts. The new A5 Cabriolet and A4 Saloon and Avant ranges and the flagship S8 Saloon all achieved higher points scores in the New Vehicle Security Ratings than their competitors.

Director of Audi UK Jeremy Hicks welcomed the very positive result for Audi: “The fact that Audi security has come to the fore on so many successive occasions really is a ringing endorsement of the lengths to which Audi AG’s security team has gone to guard against theft. I am delighted that their efforts have been recognised, and that drivers of Audi models across the spectrum can take comfort from them.”

Award-winning security protection is achieved right across the Audi range through features including Thatcham Category 1 alarm and immobiliser technology with interior ultrasonic protection, Thatcham Category 4 locking wheel bolts, anti-tow tilt sensors, visible Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) and extensive marked parts.
