Bermuda provides a style solution for male office workers

Bermuda provides a style solution for male office workers Britain’s busy male office workers should learn to keep cool at work by taking off their trousers and wearing shorts instead - but not just any shorts.

That’s according to the kings of cool – the men folk of the paradise island of Bermuda. The long and the short of it is even when they are wearing trousers up to their knees, long socks and office shoes they are über-cool.

“We work hard in Bermuda but we also know how to keep cool when the pressure is on. We wear Bermuda shorts so we don’t get hot under our collars and everywhere else,” says William Griffiths, Director of Tourism, Bermuda Department of Tourism.

The Bermudian Government is calling on office workers in the UK to embrace the ultra-chic style of properly tailored Bermuda shorts.

“Those horrible baggy pants with bright colours and crazy patterns have nothing to do with our classic shorts,” says William.

“We are determined to set the record straight. Our shorts are a perfect reflection of our island culture, well mannered, smart, practical and stylish.”

The traditional Bermuda short should fall just above the knee and be made of suit-like material. The shorts are worn with knee-length socks, a dress shirt, tie and blazer.

All we need now is an ‘Indian Summer’ for men to experience the freedom of shorts in the city.
