Trafficmaster collects host of industry awards for 2009
It’s been another award winning year for Trafficmaster with the company’s unique Smartnav satellite navigation system and Fleet Director fleet management solution both recognised again for ground-breaking new developments.
Trafficmaster’s move to put Smartnav navigation and its unique Personal Assistant service onto GPS mobile phones and BlackBerry was hailed by BusinessCar as taking the hand-held sat nav market “to a new level” and consequently awarded it the 2009 BusinessCar Technology Award (or Techies as they are known in the industry).
Tristan Young, editor and head judge commented “The Smartnav Mobile system offers Trafficmaster’s route planning with legendarily accurate traffic information. Additional features such as business mileage reporting, speed-camera alerts and personal tracking will also be additional features in the Trafficmaster Mobile app. It’s for this reason, moving the hand-held satnav market to a new level that it has won the Business Car Techie for Best Hand-held Sat Nav.”
Fleet Director has maintained its Award-winning track record this year too, collecting the prestigious Fleet Van Technology Initiative of the Year Award.
The Award specifically recognised the latest range of software enhancements to the system – particularly the ability to identify the actual closest vehicle based on live traffic information, which is unique in the industry.
Together with the other new features of live traffic information now overlayed on virtual mapping; the instant dashboard reports and two-way messaging, Fleet Director really impressed the judges with its ability to support both fleet managers and drivers.
The Mobile Electronics industry has also recognised Trafficmaster’s unique contribution over the years as well, with two major Awards for the company, voted for by readers of Mobile Electronics News (MEN). One of the most respected names in the industry, Pat Gallagher, Director for In-Vehicle Products at Trafficmaster, received the Services to the Industry Award recognising his unique and personal contribution over the years working with dealers and manufacturers across the UK automotive equipment industry.
Trafficmaster also received the Best Fleet Tracking Product for Fleet Director at the MEN Awards. The Award not only acknowledged the excellence of the product but also the highest quality service delivered by Trafficmaster to their customers across the mobile electronics industry.
