Lemonade building is top of the pops

Scores of people turned out for the unbottling of ‘The Lemonade Building’, a 17-storey block of 136 apartments on a site close to the spot where R-Whites Lemonade was once manufactured.
But home buyers don’t have to be secret lemonade drinkers to appreciate the refreshing nature of these stylish one and two-bedroom apartments, on the doorstep of the Thames Gateway, 19 minutes from the 2012 Olympic Village, 20 minutes by train from Canary Wharf, 15 minutes from Fenchurch Street and 33 minutes from Waterloo.
The Lemonade Building is the sixth and final chapter in a hugely successful regeneration story that has included more than 500 residential apartments, as well as prime retail space, a new state of the art library and lifelong learning centre, a hotel and the unique feature of a specially created arboretum planted with 40 mature trees. The latter is an integral part of a new public realm which is larger than Trafalgar Square and will be one of the Mayor of London’s ‘Top 100 Public Spaces’.
The final phase of Barking Central is led by two stunning show apartments on the 12th floor, offering panoramic views of the city.
The apartments themselves boast a sophisticated specification, featuring fully fitted kitchens in either gloss black and white or walnut and cream, with fully integrated appliances including oven, hob and extractor, fridge-freezer, washer/dryer and dishwasher.
Two-bedroom apartments enjoy the luxury of en-suite to master bedroom and all properties have a balcony for that all-important outdoor space.
Prices start from just £112,500* for a one-bedroom apartment using the Redrow ‘easi:buy’ scheme, which allows purchasers to defer the 25% developer contribution interest-free for a period of up to 10 years.
Peter Green, senior regeneration manager for Redrow, said: “Barking Central is a multi award winning development that ticks every box and is changing the face of Barking town centre forever. The Lemonade Building is at the forefront of this exciting project and offers a collection of high quality, sophisticated apartments designed to complement the cityscape and enhance people’s lifestyles.”
Bradley Martin, of selling agent Knight Frank, commented: “The Lemonade Building is a landmark building and at 17 storeys high forms a tremendous focal point for the newly regenerated Barking, now described as the ‘Olympics gateway’. The whole area has really come alive now the residents have moved into the other completed phases and the recent opening of Tesco is drawing even more people into the area.
“We have already received a tremendous amount of interest since the launch; Barking offers great value for money compared to more central locations, and residents have all the facilities right there on the doorstep including Barking station so they can still be in central London in less than 15 minutes. The innovative easi:buy scheme will make the homes accessible to an even wider audience.”
With show homes now open daily and a growing number of reservations being confirmed, The Lemonade Building, in Ripple Road, is a scheme with plenty of sparkle and the sweet taste of success. For more information call the Knight Frank marketing suite or log on to barkingcentral.com.
