Act now to move in by Christmas at Great West Quarter

13th October 2009 Print
Act now to move in by Christmas at Great West Quarter With the UK facing the lowest levels of housebuilding in more than 80 years*, the number of homes ready to move into in London by Christmas are few and far between, making the last two apartments in the current phase of Great West Quarter a rare commodity.

Alastair Baird, managing director for Barratt West London comments: “With a shortage of stock in London, people are facing a dilemma if they want to move in by Christmas. These last remaining apartments at Great West Quarter will be the last opportunity to do so as the next homes here won’t be ready to move into until summer 2010.”

Just one studio and one, two bedroom apartment are currently available in Beecham House, which provides the first newly built homes at Great West Quarter. The studio is priced at £199,995 and the two-bedroom apartment is priced at £349,995.

Alastair continues: “Homes at Great West Quarter have always been popular but sales here have increased greatly over the past couple of months. The housing market’s green shoots have certainly taken hold in West London.”

Five-storey Beecham House comprises 27 homes and is a showcase for modern, luxury living.

With its dramatic glass frontage, the external architecture of Beecham House with its sweeping curved balconies, takes its inspiration from the neighbouring Wallis House, a Grade II Listed Art Deco building which dates back to 1936.

Apartment sizes in Beecham House are larger than many in new builds: studios start from 350 sq ft, one bedrooms range from 450 sq ft to 689 sq ft and two bedrooms range from 820 sq ft up to an exceptional 954 sq ft.

When complete, Great West Quarter will provide 773 studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, including both private and affordable homes, shops, restaurants, a bar, a health club, an art gallery, a crèche, a hotel and serviced apartments.

There will be a central piazza, extending to over an acre, which has been designed as a venue for public events and, together with courtyards and play areas, will create a focal point for community activities. The landscaping will include a green corridor for wildlife, while bat and bird boxes constructed on the site will enhance natural biodiversity.

The next phase of homes to be launched at Great West Quarter is Golden Mile House. Homes include 46, one, two and three-bedroom apartments, arranged over six storeys. All homes will be open-plan with balconies or terraces. Guide prices start from £200,000 for a one-bedroom apartment.

For further information on the remaining apartments in Beecham House or Firestone House or to register interest in Golden Mile House, contact the Sales and Marketing Suite at Great West Quarter, off Great West Road, Brentford, open daily from 10am to 6pm, or visit gwq.uk.com.
