Sales success at luxury London development

27th October 2009 Print
Sales success at luxury London development Barratt West London has now sold 23 apartments off-plan at Ten Rochester Row, its prime new development in Westminster.

When complete, this new London landmark will comprise 34 luxury homes ranging from large, one-bedroom apartments with studies through to magnificent three-bedroom duplexes extending to almost 2000 sq ft.

Barratt’s sales achievements at Ten Rochester Row underlines its commitment to luxury development in London and the success of its strategy in this upmarket segment.

New research published recently shows luxury homes remain popular in the capital. Sales of homes for £1,000,000 or above in London increased by 234 per cent in August, year on year*.

Alastair Baird, managing director of Barratt West London comments: “The green shoots are making their appearance, and this research just backs up the signs of the market recovering further.”

A key feature of Ten Rochester Row will be an atrium rising to the full seven-storey height of the building, flooding a private central courtyard with natural light. There will be private underground parking for all apartments – a rare and valuable commodity in this part of London.

Ten Rochester Row’s landmark credentials spring from Barratt’s commissioning of well-known artist Oliver Marsden to turn the entire façade of the building into a work of art. Oliver has designed a series of striking concentric circles to be engraved into the front elevation. The new building, which includes some 8,500 sq ft of ground-floor retail or commercial space, has been designed for Barratt by Assael Architecture.

Alastair Baird adds: “We knew this development would be a great success; it is following the success of Visage at Swiss Cottage and more recently Allingham Court where all 12 luxury apartments sold within six months, with prices ranging from £4 million to over £11 million.”

The new homes at Ten Rochester Row will extend from around 700 sq ft to almost 2000 sq ft and will be finished to sumptuous luxury specification with balconies to all apartments. Both penthouses will have two terraces with stunning views over central London. All homes will be accessed through the central atrium.

Westminster, home to Parliament, is at the very heart of London and gives easy access to the capital’s finest cultural, leisure and shopping amenities, business centres through London’s unrivalled transport facilities.

Barratt West London has scored top marks in this year’s Home Builders Federation customer satisfaction survey, which confirms the vast majority of buyers are satisfied with the quality of their new home and would recommend their builder to a friend.

The company is rated as the maximum 5 star builder in the annual HBF survey, in which more than 20,000 new home buyers nationwide took part.

Asked if they were satisfied with the quality of their new home, and whether they would recommend their builder to a friend, more than 90 per cent of Barratt buyers in London answered yes.

All one-bedroom apartments have now sold. Two-bedroom apartments start from £825,000 and three-bedroom apartments from £960,000. Just one, three-bedroom penthouse remains, priced at £1,515,000. For further information visit barratthomes.co.uk.
