Persimmon launches first time buyer package

Leading housebuilder Persimmon Homes East Midlands recognises this dilemma and has therefore devised a first time buyer package intended to assist those in their first property with designing and furnishing their new home.
Paul Bennett, sales director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands, explains: “During the current economic climate and difficulties in obtaining a mortgage, it’s even harder for first time buyers to purchase their first home, let alone spend their hard earned cash on decorating and furnishing it. It’s for this reason that we’re offering first time buyers at a select number of developments across the region, a complementary designer package through our partnership with Designpak, worth approximately literally thousands to our buyers.”
The scheme is currently available on a number of specific units which have been designed for those looking to make their first move onto the property ladder at the company’s Beaufort Gardens development in St Neots, Renaissance in Arbury and The Waterfront in Boston.
The Designpak package not only includes furniture for the entire property, but also includes a professionally designed interior design scheme from one of four differing styles to choose from depending on individual’s tastes and requirements.
Paul adds: “We’re catering for a wide variety of first time buyers, no matter what their sex or personal preference. Purchasers can choose from our tasteful selection of charcoal and cerise, charcoal and cream, chocolate and cherry or even chocolate and cream.”
Included in the complimentary scheme is the following: three seater sofa with soft furnishings, glass and chrome TV unit, dining room table and chairs, a pair of table lamps, nest of tables, co-ordinating rug and fabric pictures for the living room.
The master bedroom and bedroom two (where applicable) will feature a double and single divan bed respectively, a chest of drawers, bedside tables and lamps and a set of highly desirable Kylie Minogue designer bed linen.
In the kitchen, homeowners will receive a starter pack, which includes all the necessary day to day items such as crockery, cutlery, glassware and even some white goods. The bathroom meanwhile will feature a mirror fronted cabinet and a bale of towels.
Purchasers are even able to personalise their new home with a selection of extras according to their individual requirements.
David Petley purchased his one bedroom penthouse apartment with Persimmon in Peterborough and took advantage of Persimmon’s offer to fully design and furnish his new home.
David comments: “I fell in love with the apartments available with Persimmon as their internal layout really suited me and the properties were really reasonably priced. When the sales adviser said I was eligible for the Designpak scheme, I was amazed that everything they were offering was absolutely free, it’s a brilliant way to help first time buyers like us with getting started in their new home.”
David chose the charcoal and cream scheme from the Designpak range. He adds: “From start to finish the sales team and Persimmon couldn’t have done more to help me. I’m now the envy of all my friends as my new place has been professionally styled from top to bottom, it’s like living in a showhome!”
Paul Bennett concludes: “We’re receiving the same satisfied response we’ve had from David from a variety of purchasers at our eligible sites and we’re really proud to be able to support first time buyers in such a tangible way.
“Not everyone has the finances, the time or perhaps the creative flair to fully design and furnish a brand new home which is why we’re offering those interested the chance to move into a professionally styled home, for free.”
Persimmon Homes East Midlands is currently building at a number of developments across the region with sites in Ancaster, Boston, Cambridge, Chatteris, Cranwell, Frognall, Godmanchester, Grantham, Littleport, Newark, Peterborough, St Neots and Waltington.
