Builders urged to get to grips with new NHBC code
NHBC has recently added two new subjects to its industry support training programme – ‘Introduction to the Code’ and ‘How to improve your energy ratings’.Designed to help builders become better acquainted with the Code and its requirements, as well as energy ratings and how to improve them, the new sessions are focused on helping building professionals understand the requirements of the challenges of sustainability legislation.
These sessions will offer the much needed support to home building firms that have been forced to cut training and development budgets during the downturn.
These short sessions will take place at various locations across the country, and are free to NHBC-registered builders and at a small cost for all others.
Rob Lockey, head of training services at NHBC, said: “Despite the downturn forcing many organisations to cut training budgets, we believe that keeping up to date with the latest industry issues will help ensure builders are prepared for increased capacity when the industry picks up.
“As time is of the essence for those builders still working, we have strived to make these training courses as relevant and time efficient as possible, so we hope that both attendees and their firms will reap the benefits.”
