Harrison Murray helps footballing youngsters in the Gambia They say football is a funny old game – and who would have thought that Harrison Murray estate agents would have been gaining attention through the sport in the Gambia.

With a team of local youngsters now donning Harrison Murray sponsored football shirts, the estate agent’s name is being held in high regard 3,000 miles away.

For the past decade Harrison Murray has been the main sponsor of Northampton-based football club Welland Valley – with their annual contribution paying for kits and winter training for the players who range in age from six to seventeen.

“The kits only last our lads a couple of years,” said Welland Valley FC chairman Mick Watts. “A neighbour of mine, Stuart Robinson, visits the Gambia a couple of times a year providing local people with used computers and other technical equipment.

“We got chatting and it seemed a great opportunity to send over some shirts to the youngsters. It seems that they were delighted with the kit, and the name of Harrison Murray has been introduced to a new audience!”

Su Snaith, senior branch partner for Harrison Murray in Northamptonshire said: “We have a wonderful association with Welland Valley and it has been our pleasure to sponsor them and see them grow over the years, into a thriving club that has recently seen them awarded the FA Charter Standard.”

“When Mick suggested such a fantastic use for the old shirts we were only too pleased to oblige.”

Harrison Murray are leading independent residential estate agents with 15 offices throughout Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and Leicestershire. Visit the website at harrisonmurray.co.uk.
