Speedy business for home buyers in Lanark

Speedy business for home buyers in Lanark The Crawford family were so impressed with their brand new home in Lanark they decided to capitalise on its attraction by renting it out and buying another identical one for themselves.

And after finding a tenant in under a week, the move has proved to be a shrewd one.

Full-time mum Michelle Crawford, 36, and her bank manger husband Donald, 36, were living in a four-bedroom ‘Severn’ property with their two boys Charlie, 10 and Tom, aged seven, when they decided to generate some extra income by renting out their home.

After sticking with tried and tested developer Redrow Homes, the couple are now happily settled in their second property at popular semi-rural development Heather Lea and delighted with how things have worked out.

Michelle said: “It has been great. We knew the rental potential in our home as Heather Lea is a wonderfully located development with high quality, spacious homes, but to find a tenant in under a week was fantastic.

“Both homes are well laid out and with four bedrooms are perfect for families. In our latest home we have turned the spare bedroom into a playroom and it’s nice having a huge garden for the kids to play in. Also, the double garage is handy and the long drive gives the home a deluxe feel.

“I think generally now is a very good time to buy and it’s great buying a brand new home as you don’t have to worry about any costly upkeep or renovations. This is now our third Redrow home and I wouldn’t buy from anybody else. Their homes are high-spec, the after care is impeccable and they offer very reasonable prices.

“We like to move every few years for a change and it’s good to know we have a good relationship with a developer we can rely on.”

For others seeking a change of scenery, Heather Lea is conveniently located between Glasgow and Edinburgh and currently features three, four and five-bedroom detached family homes priced from £174,995 to £299,950.

Within walking distance of Lanark town centre, the development enjoys countryside views yet is convenient for the motorway network and there are regular train services locally, making it the perfect rural retreat for commuters.
