Volvo The artist’s garden’ at the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show 2006 Volvo has sponsored another garden by designer Thomas Hoblyn at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2006, which runs until 9 July.

The garden, titled ‘Volvo: The Artist’s Garden’, has been designed for the artist Simon Carter to provide an outdoor room as a studio to do his painting in and a garden to provide suitable, colourful inspiration.

Simon has always been fascinated with the relationship between nature and the man-made, which provides the essence of the garden with the flowing shapes of the beds and the hornbeam hedge and reflective pool that all complement the fluid elegance of the new Volvo C70 coupe/convertible parked by the studio.

The subtle shades of light and fireworks of complementary colours in the garden reflect Simon’s paintings which usually use a punchy palette of colours with lively, rough gestured strokes with calmer milky swathes of colours.
