The Sparks are in at The Park

The Sparks are in at The Park Tony and Pat Sparks were able to tick every box on their wish list as they moved into their new four bedroom, three storey Ullswater home, at Taylor Wimpey’s The Park development in Dryburn, Durham.

They were also the first couple to choose a property on the site and were delighted with the size and layout of the Ullswater and were particularly pleased that it has an integral garage. The Ullswater is a spacious family home with generous living accommodation and although only Tony and Pat, who are both retired, will actually be living at the property, they were keen to buy a home which offered plenty of space for visits from their growing family, who all live locally.

Tony explained; “We were very impressed with the generous size of the downstairs kitchen and dining area, there is plenty of room for us to entertain visiting family and friends, which is important to us as we love having guests, especially our two year old granddaughter.”

The Ullswater boasts four bedrooms; Tony and Pat have taken the option of using the first floor bedroom as a study which can serve as a home office and reading room. This shares the first floor with a spacious lounge and a family bathroom.

Pat and Tony are delighted with their master bedroom, situated on the second floor, which enjoys the convenience of an en-suite shower room. The Sparks plan to use the other two bedrooms on the top floor as guest rooms for their family and friends; one of the rooms also serves as a bedroom for their granddaughter when she stays over with her grandparents.

To reduce the stress involved with house moving, the Sparks took advantage of Taylor Wimpey’s Easymover scheme, where the company organised the sale of their previous home in Sherburn Village, Durham. Tony explained; “Everything went smoothly, in fact the house was sold within two days, which is quicker than we could have hoped for!”.

As well as a helping with a quick sale the Easymover scheme saved the Sparks the costs of advertising, agent’s fees and removals as well as ensuring they were able to accept the best offer for their home.

The surrounding area also played a part in the The Spark’s decision to live on The Park as Tony explained; “We both enjoy country walks and with The Park being so well situated we can enjoy the beautiful countryside close to our doorstep. However, we at the same time we can take advantage of the regular bus service and be in the centre of Durham in no time and enjoy its lovely shops, cafés and restaurants”.

And with easy access to the A1(M), the development is well placed for Tony and Pat to travel to other major towns and cities including Newcastle, Middlesbrough and Sunderland. Durham railway station is also nearby along with both Newcastle and Durham Tees Valley airports.

The Sparks have been very satisfied with the customer service they have received from Taylor Wimpey and are looking forward to meeting their new neighbours as the other properties on the site become occupied.
