Family bowled over by new home

A family of crown green bowlers have found the perfect place to call home at esteemed housebuilder David Wilson Mercia’s Burgess Brook development on Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Allison Jackson along with husband David and sons Adam (20) and Ben (16), who both represent Staffordshire County in crown green bowls, previously lived in a four-bedroom house in nearby Seabridge and were delighted to find their dream home at Burgess Brook.

HR Officer, Allison commented, “When we bought our previous home about four years ago, we had actually wanted to live at this development, but it was too early in the build stage, so we purchased our home in Seabridge. However, I always knew in the back of my mind that I wanted to live in a David Wilson home, so we were delighted when we found the perfect home at Burgess Brook.

“Our previous four-bedroom home was becoming too much to maintain and was taking ages to clean, so we started thinking about moving to a slightly smaller home, which was easier to manage. It was then that I decided to take a look around Burgess Brook and I just loved the houses, the location and the whole development, more than I did four years ago.

“At the time though, our house wasn’t even on the market, but I explained our situation to the sales negotiator, Carol, and she suggested the four-bedroom Ascot house, which is a really spacious family home but not so big that we would spend our whole life doing the household chores!

“The Ascot has a great layout for family life with four really good sized bedrooms and plenty of space for two dining tables and chairs, both in the kitchen and dining room. Plus the house that we were looking at was a corner plot, so there is enough room for all three family cars, plus a fourth when Ben learns to drive. It was just perfect and we reserved straight away.”

David, an Engineering Manager added, “All the family play crown green bowls, and Burgess Brook is really close to the Westland Bowling Club, where we have played for years. And for those times when we just want a quick practice, the garden has more than enough room for us to play.

“Another thing that really attracted us to Burgess Brook is the fact that it is only a few minutes away from Newcastle town centre, which is not only ideal for socialising, but also for Ben who has just started at Newcastle College which is now within walking distance.

“We are really pleased with our new home and would definitely recommend Burgess Brook and David Wilson to anyone looking to buy a new home.”

Carole Ashworth, Sales Manager for David Wilson Mercia commented, “Burgess Brook is the ideal development for those, who like the Jacksons, are looking for a traditional family home, whilst still being close to all the shops and amenities of Newcastle town centre.

“It is great to hear that even after four years, the Jackson’s have finally been able to find their dream home here at Burgess Brook and I’m sure that many more families will follow in their footsteps.”

The Ascot style four-bedroom house offers spacious breakfast kitchen with utility, living/dining room with French doors leading to the rear garden, en-suite shower rooms to the master and second bedrooms, two further bedrooms, study and main family bathroom.

Burgess Brook currently offers a selection of one-bedroom apartments and three- and four-bedroom houses priced from £97,950. For more information log on to dwh.co.uk/burgessbrook.
