Extended lifeline for home buyers in Kidderminster

Homebuyers in Kidderminster have an extended lifeline, thanks to a new allocation from the Government backed Homebuy Direct scheme at Miller Homes’ Badger’s Dene development.

Following the great success of the first phase of HomeBuy Direct properties, Miller Homes requested further allocation of 2 bedroom apartments and are pleased that this has been granted.

The scheme makes new homes more affordable to first time buyers, key workers and current households earning less than £60,000 who cannot currently afford to buy a property on the open market.

Buyers will have the opportunity to purchase 100 percent of their home by paying from 70 percent of the value, with both Miller Homes and the Government equally funding the remaining 30 percent. The 30 percent equity loan will only become repayable after 25 years or when the customer sells their home, whichever comes first.

One of the big bonuses of the scheme is that the equity loan is only repayable after 25 years, and there is no interest payable for the first five years.

This latest allocation is expected to be very popular according to regional sales director Linda Androlia:

“Previous properties available on Homebuy Direct were snapped up quickly and we anticipate a repeat of this.

“This is a great shot in the arm for prospective homebuyers in Kidderminster. It will enable more people who have found it almost impossible to get a foot on or climb the property ladder, either due to the tightening of mortgage lending or because they have struggled to raise the deposits they need to secure a brand new home.

“With the immense affordability of these properties, we’re sure they’ll be snapped up, so we urge househunters to act quickly.”

Located on Franchise Street, Badgers Dene offers the benefit of superb local amenities, with a variety of restaurants, bars, parks and a leisure centre all within walking distance. Transport links are also excellent with easy access to the A456 leading into Birmingham and the Wyre Forest; and to the south via the A449 which gives a direct link to Worcester and the M5.

Properties available at Badgers Dene range from £108,950, or £76,265 for a two bedroom apartment on HomeBuy Direct to a four bedroom house at £169,950 or £118,965 on HomeBuy Direct.
