New Volvo C30 DRIVe with Start/Stop

The latest version of the Volvo C30 DRIVe is also capable of up to 74.3 mpg on the combined cycle and can cover up to 857 miles on a single tank. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show this week, the new model will be available to order in the UK from October 2009.
Since May 2009, the Volvo C30 1.6D DRIVe has been available with an advanced Start/Stop function that switches off the engine when the car is at a standstill. This, together with a number of improvements in the areas of engine management and combustion technology, brought the C30 DRIVe down to 104 g/km of CO2. Just a few months later, yet more advances have been made.
"For the first time in Volvo's history we have a car that emits only 99 grams of CO2 per km," says Peter Ewerstrand, head of CO2 at Volvo Cars. "We've left absolutely no stone unturned in our determination to reach this target, and it's wonderful that we have succeeded," he continues.
This low fuel consumption is not the only new feature of the Volvo C30 in Frankfurt. The Volvo C30 has also undergone an extensive facelift. The entire front has been remodelled, including the front wings, giving the car a radical new appearance.
