Leeds Building Society promotes talent and success
Leeds Building Society has made two high profile appointments from within its own staff, confirming the strength and quality of its people.
The Society has appointed Paul Riley as General Manager, Treasury. Paul joined the Society in 1992 and started working in the Treasury Department in 1996, and in 2000 was promoted to Head of Group Treasury. During this period Paul has played a significant part in developing the Society's Treasury operations.
Commenting on his appointment Paul said, "I am delighted to take up this role as a General Manager with Leeds Building Society and am honoured to have been appointed from within, and worked my way up through, the Society's internal staff.
"The role of the Treasury team has become increasingly fundamental to the Society's ongoing funding activities and has been further underlined by the pressures ongoing since the credit crunch. I am confident my experience of the money markets, credit rating agencies and external partners will strengthen the Senior Management Team."
Leeds Building Society has also appointed Trevor Garside as Head of Sales, with responsibility for the Society's Branch network and Financial Services. Trevor joined the Society in 1987 and held a number of roles before becoming Head of Financial Services in 2005. Trevor is also Managing Director of Leeds Financial Services Limited, the Society's subsidiary company.
Commenting on his appointment Trevor said, "I am pleased to be able to combine responsibility for our branch network and Financial Services teams and believe that they will be stronger together, providing our customers with quality service and access to an excellent range of competitive products."
