Leeds BS breaks a Rugby World Record for Children in Need
Leeds Building Society recently broke the world record for the number of Rugby passes achieved in 10 minutes.
At the Society's Sales Conference, 721 passes were achieved during the successful world record attempt. These passes went between staff from the Branch network, Leeds Financial Services and Intermediary Account Managers.
There were also two members of the Leeds Rhinos present to witness this record being broken. The Leeds Building Society sponsorship committee sponsored each pass at 40p each, so the 721 world record passes achieved worked out at £288.40. This was then rounded up to £300 by the sponsorship committee. This money has now been credited to the Society's 2009 BBC Children in Need account, which currently stands at over £9,500.
The theme of the Leeds Building Society sales conference was ‘Stronger Together & working as one team,' with the Society's sales network brought together.
Trevor Garside, Leeds Building Society's Head Of Sales said, "I am delighted the sales channels worked together as one team to raise money for a worthwhile cause in Children in Need, and show that at Leeds Building Society we really can pull together and break records."
