Christmas comes early for homebuyers in Gainsborough

Christmas has come early to homebuyers in the Gainsborough area.  The team at Miller Homes’ Brooklands development have not only cracked open the mulled wine, unwrapped the mince pies and removed the chocolate tin lid, but are also offering would-be house purchasers carpets and only a £100 reservation fee throughout December.

Housebuyers will also be able to tick off their Christmas wish list, an affordable home.  As Brooklands is one of the few remaining developments that has a select number of Homebuy Direct properties still available.

Ross Clarkson, senior sales adviser for Miller Homes Yorkshire said: “I would strongly urge anyone thinking about purchasing a new home in 2010 to visit Brooklands this month, the availability of Homebuy Direct is extremely limited and I cannot urge potential homebuyers enough to take advantage now!”

Homebuy Direct is a shared equity scheme designed to help first-time buyers, renters and those re-entering the property market to move into affordable home ownership.  The scheme is available on a select number of new build properties and buyers are offered an equity loan of up to 30 per cent of the purchase price, co-funded by Government and Miller Homes.   Any household earning less than £60,000 who cannot afford to buy a property on the open market is eligible for the scheme.

An example of a Brooklands Homebuy Direct property is the Grappenhall apartment.  The stylish two bedroom apartment, with a Homebuy Direct price tag of just £60,550, includes a striking bay window that complements the clean modern lines of the kitchen with a traditional elegance, and the apartments which incorporate the corner tower extend the bay design into a magnificent alcove with panoramic views. The second bedroom, ideal for guests, could also be used to create an impressive home office or IT suite.

Ross continued: “This development has something to offer all people looking to buy a quality built home at an excellent price.  Our apartments are a great starter home but for those looking for something a little bigger we have three bedroom townhouses including study and garage from just £141,495.”

Brooklands’ itself is a superb development, designed with a community feel in mind, boasting three public open spaces and a play area.  It is situated on Foxby Lane on the outskirts of Gainsborough town centre and enjoys panoramic views over the lush green fields of Lincolnshire.

It is located at the intersection of the A631, the A159 and the A156, Gainsborough and is in easy reach of Sheffield, Doncaster, Lincoln, Scunthorpe and Grimsby. There are frequent trains from Lea Road Station, less than half a mile from Brooklands, to Lincoln, Sheffield and Doncaster, and good local bus services, with a bus station in the town.

If you are wanting to start off the New Year in an affordable new home, Miller is urging purchasers to visit the sales centre now and secure their 2010 home.  The showhome and sales centre are open Thursday to Monday from 10.30am to 5.30pm, alternatively, log on to millerhomes.co.uk/homebuy.
