Stylish new show homes debut at Park Central

Crest Nicholson, the developer behind the award winning Park Central development in Birmingham city centre, has ended 2009 on a high with the announcement that high levels of visitors attended its recent show home launch weekend.
Bordered by Bath Row and Lee Bank Middleway, Park Central offers buyers the very best in city living, located only minutes away from The Mailbox and with eight acres of public parkland at the heart of the scheme giving homeowners the chance to escape the hustle of the city centre and seek refuge in a peaceful, green environment.
Throughout the past 12 months, Crest has opened its dedicated on-site marketing suite at Park Central for seven days a week in order to meet ongoing demand; and as the year has drawn to a close the developer took the decision to open a one and two bedroom parkside show apartment at the scheme.
Sales manager Jo Parker explained: “We commissioned the latest collection of show homes at Park Central to give homebuyers the opportunity to take a closer look at the new homes available at the scheme, and to help purchasers get a feel for the space they could be living in, not to mention the extensive views over parkland they could be enjoying. An added benefit for visitors is that show homes can prove to be an invaluable source of design inspiration, demonstrating the latest interiors and helping to inform future furniture and accessory purchases.
“There is clearly pent-up demand for new show home properties in the city centre and the recent launch weekend was a great success. We saw an increase in the level of serious purchasers compared to events held earlier in the year, with feedback suggesting that visitors were impressed by the quality of the apartments and their location, as well as the competitive prices. This positive response to the new show homes comes at the end of a successful year for Park Central, marked by an increase in owner occupier purchasers – all of which signals that confidence is returning to the regional property market.”
Louise Theanne of H&A Interiors said of the design: “By using and adapting the latest trends in interior design, we have achieved two distinctive looks for the new show homes which complement the very special nature of their surrounding environment.
“Two completely different colour schemes have been used from catwalk-inspired purple and black, to a fresh aquamarine and taupe palette. Furnishings can make a huge impact to the overall feel of the apartment and we hope to have provided invaluable inspiration for potential purchasers. Whether it’s a trend conscious first time buyer or someone looking for a more classic understated look, the apartments at Park Central can be adapted to suit almost anyone.
Jo added: “Having been closely involved in the evolution of the new show apartments, I am confident that they showcase the flexibility of the space on offer at Park Central. A number of visitors to the weekend expressed an interest in the homes and were really impressed with the quality of the design and high specification of the apartments. We expect a flurry of interest as people look to buy at a time when homes are at such competitive prices. “
Eligible purchasers with a household income of less than £60,000 can take advantage of the government-backed HomeBuy Direct at Park Central. The initiative reduces the mortgage amount needed by buyers to secure their first home, with the government covering up to 30 per cent of the property price with a loan. This then leaves the buyer to raise a more affordable mortgage for the remaining 70 per cent.
A selection of contemporary one bedroom apartments is currently available at Park Central priced from just £99,950, with two bedroom apartments available from £138,950. However, with HomeBuy Direct, a one bedroom apartment can be secured from just £69,965.
Park Central is the result of an innovative partnership between Crest Nicholson and joint landowners Birmingham City Council and Optima Community Association.
The marketing suite is open daily from 10am to 5pm and is located at Park Central, 2 Mason Way, Birmingham B15 2EY.
