Shayne and Lynda find their ideal home with Taylor Wimpey

When Shayne Anderson and Lynda Diver discovered their ideal Taylor Wimpey home at Mawsley Village in Northamptonshire, the last thing they expected was to be moving in before Christmas.
Kettering fire officer Shayne was only too familiar with how long and frustrating the process of selling a home could be, having tried unsuccessfully to find a buyer for his three-bedroom house in Desborough two years ago.
So when Taylor Wimpey offered to sell his home for him when he and his partner agreed to purchase the five-bedroom ‘Malsor’ at Mawsley Village in August, the pair prepared themselves for a long wait.
They were both surprised and delighted when no fewer than three offers were received in a matter of weeks, allowing them to settle in to their brand new home before the start of the holiday season.
“Neither of us expected to be in our new home before Christmas when we signed up to Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme on 10th August, but we had a lot of interest and a few offers very quickly,” said Shayne (48).
“It actually turned into a bit of an auction. We received the full asking price and had sold the place by the first week in September.
“It all went through so quickly and Taylor Wimpey were fantastic in keeping us informed of how things were developing. We were both surprised and pleased with how the process went and delighted to be here for Christmas.”
Shayne and Lynda (46), who works as a child play specialist at Kettering General Hospital, fell in love with the detached home they chose when they saw its fantastic views over picturesque open countryside.
And with generous accommodation laid out across three floors, including a spacious kitchen/breakfast room, a large lounge, a separate dining room, a home study, five bedrooms and four bathrooms, it was perfect for their needs.
“The main selling point for us was the beautiful view but the generous size and space was also a major advantage,” said Shayne.
“I’ve got two daughters aged 21 and 24 and Lynda’s got three sons aged 18 to 25, and there’s plenty of room for them all to visit over Christmas.”
Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme allows existing homeowners like Shayne and Lynda to choose a brand new home and then sit back and relax while the housebuilder finds a buyer for their current property.
The average selling time for easymover customers is less than five weeks, although many see their homes sold within a fortnight. Ninety per cent of properties are sold successfully through the initiative and the typical timescale from sale to exchange of contracts is just 10 weeks.
The scheme covers the cost of estate agents’ fees, and the housebuilder will also help purchasers find a solicitor, contribute to their legal fees and provide access to an independent financial advisor and a range of attractive mortgage deals not available on the high street.
Easymover is available on selected properties at Taylor Wimpey’s The Copse and The Green developments in Mawsley Village, near Kettering, where two-bedroom homes are priced from only £134,995, three-bedroom homes are available from just £147,995, four-bedroom homes from £242,995 and five-bedroom homes from £304,995.
Incentives are also available for first-time buyers, including help with deposits and legal fees, and can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances. All offers are subject to availability.
