Good news for first time buyers in Edgware

An unexpected opportunity has arisen to help first-time buyers step on to the first rung of the property ladder – by saving up to 50% on the price of a brand new home at The Edge in Edgware, north London.
Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is pleased to announce that the incredible First-Time Buyers’ Initiative has been specially extended to cover even more one-bedroom homes at this exciting apartment development.
Under this great scheme, offered in partnership with Government HomeBuy Agent Metropolitan, qualifying buyers can secure a home with a mortgage of only 50% of the property’s purchase price – and typically only a 5% deposit.
It means selected one-bedroom apartments, priced from £182,950, are available for as little as £91,475* to those quick enough to take advantage of the initiative.
Tony Woodman, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey, says: “The First-Time Buyers’ Initiative is an amazing opportunity to make home ownership a reality for those who might otherwise consider the property ladder out of reach – and we’re delighted to be able to extend this great scheme so even more aspiring homebuyers can benefit!
“FTBI is available on a strictly limited number of homes at this stunning apartment development, and properties at The Edge are being snapped up fast.
“Anyone who thinks they may qualify for the initiative is advised to get in touch with us as quickly as they possibly can to avoid missing out!”
FTBI is available to first-time buyers who have a household income of less than £60,000. Through Taylor Wimpey and Metropolitan, the Government’s Homes and Communities Agency provides up to 50% of the price of selected apartments at The Edge, with nothing to pay on this share for three years after purchase.
Following the initial three-year period, an annual fee of 1% of the funding amount is payable, rising to a maximum annual fee of 3% after six years.
Fast-moving FTBI customers can take their pick from a superb range of homes to suit a variety of buyer requirements.
Each apartment available under the scheme benefits from a spacious lounge/diner with open-plan kitchen, while a double bedroom and bathroom can also be found off the private entrance hallway.
All homes at The Edge include an allocated parking space and are completed to a high standard specification including double glazing, central heating and fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.
The development is conveniently located less than a mile from Edgware’s vibrant town centre and Broadwalk Shopping Centre, which offer a wide choice of high street and independent shops, boutiques, cafes, bars and restaurants, plus an array of sports and leisure facilities. Further afield, the department stores of Brent Cross are only three miles away.
For commuters, Edgware and Burnt Oak Underground stations are both within easy reach for quick links to central London, while the A5 provides a direct route to Marble Arch.
Further information on the homes available under FTBI at The Edge is available by visiting the Sales Centre, located off Burnt Oak Broadway, Edgware, and open seven days a week, from 10am to 5.30pm Tuesday to Sunday, and from 10am to 2pm on Monday.
