Moving home is plain sailing with Bryant

When it came to moving to a new and more spacious home for their family, Ricky and Jayne Warren found an easy way to take advantage of the rising property market by using Bryant Homes’ Market Mover incentive.

The couple, who have two sons, Daniel (12) and Jamie (10), were keen to find a house with three good-sized bedrooms – particularly for Jamie who had outgrown the ‘box room’ third bedroom at their old home in Hucknall, Nottinghamshire.

Just up the road, leading housebuilder Bryant was laying the foundations for Chestnut Grove, a collection of apartments and three and four-bedroom family-size houses.

“We started looking at the possibility of moving about a year ago when work first began on the development,” explains Jayne (41).

“Then, when the whole of the property market came down in price we took another look and saw the three-bedroom ‘Cranbourne’ showhome at Chestnut Grove, which we really liked.

“It has a natural flow from one room to the next which we’d not seen in other new three-storey properties, and it’s a layout that works very well for family life.”

Inside the ‘Cranbourne’ the spacious living/dining room, kitchen and cloakroom are on the ground floor, with the boys’ bedrooms – both a good size – and a main bathroom upstairs. Jayne and Ricky’s master bedroom with en-suite enjoys the peaceful sanctuary of the top floor.

As well purchasing their home off-plan for a great-value, fixed price in a rising property market, Jayne, an account manager for an IT company in Ruddington and Ricky (39), a supervisor for a fabrics company in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, used Bryant’s Market Mover scheme, through which their old house was sold within a matter of days rather than weeks or months.

“We had looked at a part-exchange scheme with a different housebuilder, but we didn’t feel we would be in control of the price we would receive for our old home,” explains Jayne.

“With Bryant’s Market Mover scheme, we received three independent valuations of our old property with a recommendation to sell for the middle one, but we were always given the option to put it on the market for the price we wanted.

“We also took advantage of Bryant’s free removals service, which was very quick and professional – in fact, it was such plain sailing that I was at work while they got on and moved us!”

Although the three-bedroom ‘Cranbourne’ homes are currently all sold out at Chestnut Grove, movers have a choice of three-bedroom homes starting from £132,995, and four-bedroom houses including detached designs with double garages and ranging from £194,995 to £259,995.

These include the fabulous new three-bedroom ‘Heathcote’ townhouse, with a large reception room featuring French doors to the rear garden, a ground floor kitchen and guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.

Upstairs, the first-floor landing leads to a double bedroom and generous third bedroom/study plus a main bathroom, while the top floor comprises the master bedroom with en-suite shower room.

A selection of one and two-bedroom apartments are also available – ideal for first-time buyers and ranging from £80,995 to £95,995.

All new homes at Chestnut Grove are finished to a high standard specification, including energy-efficient heating, double glazing and a fitted kitchen with oven, hob and hood – and a washer/dryer to selected apartments.

Bryant’s Market Mover scheme is designed to cut out the hassle of moving home.

Under the scheme, Bryant pays the legal fees, stamp duty and removal costs, and helps those with a property to sell to make a quick and easy move. In addition, first-time buyers can receive assistance with their deposit and fees.

Market Mover incentives can be tailored to homebuyers’ circumstances and are available on a range of selected properties. Further information is available from the Homes Consultant.

Chestnut Grove lies on the southern edge of Hucknall close to picturesque open countryside, and takes its name from the beautiful copse of mature chestnut trees which are being preserved on the fringes of this attractive location, along with other native English species.

The development is ideally located within easy reach of Nottingham, one of the country’s most vibrant destinations for shopping, leisure and nightlife.

Closer still, Hucknall is home to shops catering for everyday needs and more, while Bestwood Country Park – 650 acres of wildflower meadows, ancient oak woodland and mill lakes teeming with water birds – is just a short distance away.
