Bookies predict iPad will rewrite history books
Following the launch of the Apple iPad in San Francisco, bookies Paddy Power are already offering odds on the global sales for Apples ‘latest creation’.
With it's promise of seamless browsing, e-mail, photos, video, music, games and e-books Paddy Power are offering short odds of 11/4 that all the iPad will rewrite the history books and sell between two and three million units in 2010 making it the fastest selling device of it's kind in history.
Paddy Power were also offering betting on the name that Apple would christen its latest creation. While iSlate was their 4/5 favourite, IPad was the 7/4 second favourite and triggered a payout in excess of €5,000 to shrewd punters who successfully second-guessed the world’s coolest corporation.
Paddy Power said “Having just seen Steve’s presentation I’m already convinced that I really need an iPad and I’m pretty sure there are millions of others who feel just the same way. I think the smart money is on over two million sales this year, for sure”
