Boost for Birmingham house hunters

Crest Nicholson, the force behind the award winning city centre development, Park Central, has boosted its package of incentives in a bid to help today’s homebuyers get on or move up the property ladder.
Eligible purchasers at Park Central can currently secure a new one bedroom with a mortgage for as low as £59,500 if they take advantage of HomeBuy Direct. First time buyers with a household income of less than £60,000 stand to benefit from the government-backed assistance scheme, which sees the government and housebuilder cover up to 15 per cent each or 30 per cent in total of the property price with a loan. This then leaves the buyer with a more affordable mortgage for the remaining 70 per cent.
For a limited time, Crest Nicholson is also offering buyers of selected apartments an additional lifeline with £1,000 of IKEA vouchers. Payable on legal completion, the vouchers can be used on anything from a stylish new sofa to a supply of Swedish meatballs, meaning Park Central purchasers can enjoy a shopping spree and furnish their new apartment without having to spend literally months saving their hard-earned cash.
The Park Central team has also introduced its very own ‘Live for Less’ scheme, which is available to eligible buyers for a limited time only. Live for Less sees Crest Nicholson help to pay buyers’ household bills for a year. The scheme stands to save new homeowners literally thousands of pounds, with the developer paying a contribution towards service charge, ground rent, council tax, electricity and water bills.
Jo Parker, sales manager at Park Central, explained: “At Park Central, we are always looking for ways to help buyers make the move to a stylish new city centre apartment. First time buyers in particular are increasingly aware that they can visit Park Central and receive the very best specialist advice on how to get on the property ladder. Government-backed assistance schemes such as HomeBuy Direct have always proven popular at Park Central; however we wanted to give purchasers an additional boost with the introduction of incentives packages that we believe will make a difference to prospective purchasers.
“Through our experience of helping buyers achieve their move, we believe either Live for Less or £1,000 IKEA vouchers will help to take the financial pressure off those who are looking to make homeownership more affordable. As these incentives will only be available for a limited period, I would urge those interested to act fast and contact the sales team to find out more about the terms and conditions. The savings that buyers then stand to make will hopefully ensure they can make the most of their new city centre lifestyle.”
Crest Nicholson has a selection of contemporary one bedroom apartments currently available at Park Central priced from a highly competitive £85,000 – or from just £59,500 using HomeBuy Direct.
