Bespoke living on a first time buyer's budget
Bespoke homes are a luxury most first time buyers cannot afford, however leading online estate agent Wooster & Stock has a unique one bedroom apartment on the market for just £229,950, in Camberwell, South East London.
Designers David Wolfe and Andrew Cadey completely renovated their one bedroom top floor flat and turned it into a city pad with the wow-factor.
David, originally from Yorkshire is a costume designer on films and television programmes and Andrew, 37, is an architect at a cutting-edge firm of architects making them ideal designers for this contemporary project. David, 35, comments: “Andrew and I used to rent in this building and when the penthouse came onto the market, we saw a fantastic opportunity to refurbish an amazing space. Our individual vocations allowed us to oversee all of the building and design work. It really was a labour of love! We gutted every room, re-wired the whole property and had new ceilings and flooring put in. We wanted to achieve a bespoke feel with a professional standard of finish, and we have!
“The contrast of the crisp white walls and dark flooring which includes lacquered boards and warm chocolate coloured carpets makes the space sleek and modern. Concealed behind this interior veneer is a vast storage system of handleless cabinets which runs throughout the apartment. The apartment was designed this way because having an expansive system to store away items we do not wish to be on display, is extremely important to make the space as practical as possible without compromising the overall design. I love it here, it was a perfect first home and if we didn’t need to upsize, I would stay.”
Becky Munday, Head of sales at Wooster & Stock comments: “It is so rare to see a property renovated to this level for under £250,000 so first time buyers will be amazed such a stylish bespoke home can be so affordable. The apartment will be an attractive option for design conscious buyers who are looking to move straight into an exceptional home, without doing any of the hard work.”
This beautiful apartment is located in a late Victorian building which is within walking distance of Camberwell and its many independent shops, restaurants and cafés. Buses run frequently to Elephant & Castle for tube links, and Denmark Hill station is close by for trains into the city.
The property is currently on the market through Wooster & Stock for £229,950. For further information, visit woosterstock.co.uk.
