Retirement Villages Ltd has been shortlisted in two categories of a national awards which recognises outstanding contribution to the healthcare industry.

The company, which has 11 age-exclusive communities in its portfolio, has beaten off stiff competition to secure places in two categories in the final of the Health Investor Awards 2010.

Retirement Villages Ltd is competing in the Residential Care Provider of the Year category which aims to pinpoint innovation and excellence in housing schemes which also have care offerings. And RV Care – the domiciliary care arm of the company – has been named as a finalist in the Domiciliary Care Provider of the Year category.

It is the second year the company, which pioneered age exclusive communities in the UK, has reached the finals of the nationally-recognised awards organised by HealthInvestor magazine and judged by such high profile figures as former Government health minister Lord Ara Darzi and Martin Green, Chief Executive of the English Community Care Association. The winners will be unveiled at a black tie dinner at the Hilton Park Lane, London, in May.

“We are delighted to have been shortlisted for not one but two such prestigious awards,” said Retirement Villages’ Chief Executive Jon Gooding. “It is an endorsement for Retirement Villages’ Ltd not just as a property provider but as a company which takes its’ on-going responsibility towards the care provision for residents and the wider community very seriously.”
