Trafficmaster launches Smartnav Lite

11th February 2010 Print

Trafficmaster has just launched Smartnav Lite – a unique satellite navigation service that only uses real personal assistants to download routes.

In this fast moving world of technology, wouldn’t it be nice to have a real person who knows what they are doing to help you out.  Trafficmaster believes the human touch is just what the mobile world needs and has released the first satellite navigation service – Smartnav Lite - that is supported only by a team of round the clock personal assistants (PAs).

Available on any iPhone, you just press the Smartnav Lite icon within the Trafficmaster Companion application and you are instantly connected to a PA. The PA is an expert in helping you find the right destination. So whether you just have a name of a business or perhaps would like to find a nearby restaurant or any other place of interest, they will locate the address and download the route to your iPhone in seconds. This saves you time scrolling through the address book or putting in postcodes, and it eases the worry of not knowing if you are actually going to the right destination.

The route is calculated using Trafficmaster’s own traffic data that is collated from its network of 8,000 roadside sensors and refers to actual road speeds. This means that it can provide you with the best available route and if traffic conditions change it will immediately download an alternative route to your phone. This means spending less time stuck in traffic and more time getting on with your day.

What’s more the PA’s are also on hand to provide peace of mind in an emergency or breakdown situation. Knowing your exact location they will provide a direct link between you and the emergency services or your breakdown provider.

Smartnav Lite is free to download and then costs around £1.20 per route or PA assistance call*. This makes Smartnav the easiest to use satnav service on the market.  To use, simply press the button, tell them roughly where you want to go, then drive.
