When newlyweds David and Jennifer Atkins decided they needed to find a larger home to settle down in, the biggest obstacle that stood in their way was finding a buyer for their existing property.

David (32) and 29-year-old Jennifer placed their small terraced home in Newstead, Nottinghamshire, on the market in April 2009 – but not a single potential buyer came forward to view the property in three months.

Fortunately for the couple, their frustration wasn’t to last. Searching the internet for their ideal home, technical support worker David found Taylor Wimpey’s Brackens Court development in Bestwood Village, on the outskirts of Nottingham.

Not only did they find exactly the three-bedroom home they were looking for there, but they were also offered a fantastic Part Exchange deal which meant they were given a great price for their previous property without the hassle of waiting for a buyer.

“We had tried to sell before but didn’t have any luck, so it was a big weight off our minds when Taylor Wimpey offered us a good deal with Part Exchange,” says David.

“We found the house that we wanted and didn’t have to worry about waiting for a buyer for our old one, and the peace of mind we received through knowing we had a guaranteed sale took an awful lot of stress out of the whole process.

“We were really chuffed with the deal we received!”

David and admin assistant Jennifer reserved their three-bedroom ‘Scarlet’ home at Brackens Court in July 2009, ready for a move in time for Christmas.

They are now looking forward to celebrating their first wedding anniversary in their brand new home. Far more spacious than their previous property, the new house they chose also benefits from a private garden – a luxury they could not enjoy before.

And Taylor Wimpey didn’t just take away the stress of trying to sell their previous property – the leading housebuilder also offered them a raft of additional incentives to make choosing their new home even more appealing, including free flooring, £500 towards their legal fees and a free House 2 Home removal service.

“We’re really pleased with the decision we made to choose Brackens Court,” David adds. “We found exactly what we were looking for and Taylor Wimpey made everything easy for us. Now we’re enjoying settling into our new place together!"

House-hunters like David and Jennifer can benefit from a range of time and money-saving schemes by choosing a brand new home at Brackens Court.

Part Exchange is available on selected properties and allows customers with a home to sell to receive the full value of their existing property, based on the average of three independent valuations.

Alternatively, Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme means buyers can sit back and relax while the housebuilder sells their current home for them – usually in as little as five to six weeks – and can even contribute towards their legal fees.

All incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual circumstances and are subject to availability, with further information available from the Sales Executive.

A superb selection of four-bedroom homes is available now at Brackens Court, including the ‘Claret’ townhouse from £149,995 and the detached ‘Citrine’ house from £184,995.

All new homes at the development include a garage or allocated parking and are completed to a high standard specification, including central heating, double glazing and fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

Brackens Court enjoys a lovely location just a short stroll from Bestwood Country Park – 650 acres of meadows, ancient oak woodland and mill lakes teeming with wildlife – while everyday amenities are also close by, including shops, a pub, a post office and general store, a social club and a playground and recreation area.

A primary school and a community centre are also are within easy reach, while for a wider choice of schools, leisure and shopping opportunities, Nottingham city centre is only four miles from the development.

Commuters will appreciate excellent road links, with the M1 north and south just a ten-minute drive away. The nearest tram station can be found at nearby Bulwell.

The Sales Centre, located off Park Road, is open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
