Paving the way for future property professionals

Leading online estate agent Wooster & Stock is actively encouraging school students to learn more about the property industry and the different employment opportunities it can provide.
The London estate agent has recognised that the younger generations do not realise roles within the sector could be ideal career paths and it wants to change their perception.
Jenny Holland, Head of the Sydenham office at Wooster & Stock, comments: “As a working mother, I believe it is extremely important to advise and inform young people about their career options. Through Wooster & Stock I give talks at senior schools and attend university open days to give students understanding of our line of work. I shall also be liaising with schools this year to offer work placements, so the pupils get hands on experience within the profession.
“At a recent talk at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic School in Southwark, the children were fascinated by what our roles involve on a day-to-day basis. Most of the pupils we talked with did not know anything about the industry which actually encompasses many facets including sales, law and marketing. We told them that it is a growing market and those who communicate well, express themselves confidently and are passionate about people, can go a long way.”
For their latest event the company produced booklets for the pupils about the skills required in the trade. The students were enthused by the talk and many have enquired about opportunities that may become available to them. Wooster & Stock’s upcoming event is in March where they will be advising undergraduates at Goldsmiths University.
