Sneak a peek at stylish new Awdry Court

Retirement specialist McCarthy & Stone has revealed what its stylish new Awdry Court development in Kings Norton will look like and is inviting prospective purchasers to register their interest now.
The development in St Nicholas Gardens was named after Reverend Wilbert Awdry, a curate at St Nicholas’ Church who invented the characters of Thomas and his friends to entertain his son Christopher in 1943. McCarthy & Stone is now inviting house hunters over 60 to find out more about the new collection of 30 one and two bedroom purpose-built retirement apartments.
Robin Pike, regional sales and marketing director for McCarthy & Stone, said: “We’re thrilled to be bringing house hunters in Birmingham even more choice of stylish new retirement homes with our new Awdry Court development. As we’ve been building in the region for a number of years, many people will be familiar with the quality and design of our homes so we’re expecting a lot of interest from buyers.
“Every apartment benefits from a well-thought out design to help residents maintain independence in later life and feel secure in their own home. Shops and services are within easy reach and, for journeys further afield, Birmingham New Street station is a short bus ride away. I’d recommend that buyers act now and register their interest to make sure they are among the first to snap up one of our stylish retirement apartments.”
McCarthy & Stone’s new Awdry Court development will offer purchasers a collection of 30 one and two bedroom retirement apartments, due for completion in May 2010. Design features will include 24 hour emergency Careline call points, electrical sockets at a raised height to reduce bending, illuminated light switches, a video entry system, easy grip lever taps in the bathroom and kitchen and energy efficient heating.
