First time buyer Sunita Mistry, 25 from Dulwich, recently purchased a two bedroom apartment at Bauhaus in Croydon for £200,000. The stunning development, located in what is increasingly known as ‘London’s Third City’, is set to benefit from the areas regeneration, including being connected to the London Underground for the first time.

Sunita comments: “I definitely bought at the right time, with the huge amount of regeneration and the extension of the East London Line, prices will increase in the future. I work in Central London so the fast and frequent trains really appealed to me. Bauhaus is definitely a good investment!”

She continues: “I started looking for a place to buy in summer 2009. I wanted to stay in south east London so I was looking anywhere between Dulwich and Croydon. I probably viewed about five different developments but I feel the quality and finish at Bauhaus is of an exceptionally high standard. The apartments are spacious and I have a second double bedroom which I can use as an office or to store all my extra clothes! I have a corner flat with floor-to-ceiling windows so I also get fantastic views in two directions.”

Bauhaus is a striking new build development offering a selection of one and two bedroom apartments, three bedroom penthouses and two bedroom mews houses which offer spectacular attention to detail. All apartments feature contemporary Lemongrass kitchens with an integrated stainless steel oven, ceramic hob and extractor hood, as well as stainless steel sinks and mixer taps.

The bathrooms come with Luxury Roca white sanitary ware with steel baths and over the bath shower with glazed bath screen. Selected apartments have an en-suite shower room and balconies. Bauhaus also features a landscaped communal courtyard and a 10 year NHBC warranty.

Situated just off Croydon High Street and in Croydon’s cultural quarter, there is a wide selection of bars, restaurants and shops right on its doorstep. Although seen as a major retail and business centre, Croydon is one of London’s ‘greenest’ boroughs with over 2,600 acres of open space.

Croydon is also home to numerous leisure facilities including golf clubs and the Croydon Sports Arena which is used for football, athletics and cycling. The Fairfield Halls and Ashcroft Theatre host major musical and drama events throughout the year and the Croydon Clocktower is an award winning cultural and community complex incorporating the town’s central library and museum. Croydon also boasts a traditional market on Surrey Street which dates back to 1273 selling anything from fresh fruit and vegetables to household goods.

Croydon’s regeneration programme is well under way with £3.5 billion already committed to modernising the town’s transport, retail and entertainment amenities and purchasers at Bauhaus are ideally placed to experience the benefits of this investment. Bauhaus is within walking distance of both East and West Croydon stations offering services to London Bridge and London Victoria in just 16 minutes and the trendy districts of Shoreditch and Hoxton when the East London Line opens later this year.

Prices at Bauhaus start from £155,000 for a one bedroom apartment, £195,000 for a two bedroom apartment and £260,000 for a two bedroom mews house. Interested purchasers can visit the Bauhaus marketing suite and showhome seven days a week from 10am to 5pm. For further information or to arrange an appointment, visit bauhuas-croydon.com.
