A recent survey conducted by The Office for National Statistics states that many young adults in their mid-20s and early 30s are finding themselves increasingly having to postpone the transition to adulthood, and that the average age of a first-time purchaser buying without assistance is now a frightening 38*.

At Image, Dandara’s stunning new re-development of Kodak House in Hemel Hempstead, a workshop is being held on Thursday 25th March to advise prospective first time purchasers on the best way to get a foot on the property ladder.

Award-winning Irish developer, Dandara, will be holding the event, which is open to all between 5.00pm and 7.30pm, in the marketing suites and the showhomes on Cottrell’s. Independent financial advisors will be on hand to provide free expert advice and guests will also be given the opportunity to view the spectacular new show apartments with far reaching views over the Grand Union Canal and the Boxmoor Trust landscape.

Dandara provide individual tailored first time packages to suit the needs of the each buyer, whose circumstances and requirements always vary. Some of the options available include a 5% deposit paid or helping with a deposit match scheme, where Dandara will loan upto 10% of the properties value, interest free for up to 10 years**. Dandara are also offering 6% of interest on deposit paid to parents who are keen to help their children onto the property ladder.

Dandara has transformed the previously empty Kodak House, adding two levels to make it 22-storeys high, ensuring it continues to be a well known local landmark and a focal point for the innovative mixed-use development. Located on Station Road, the development combines new build and refurbishment, a selection of one and two bedroom apartments and a series of retail units that will be home to small shops and cafes.

The development is centred round a landscaped piazza with a piece of specially commissioned public art at the heart of the space. A newly constructed footbridge will link the piazza to the recently created Riverside shopping centre.

Michelle Harris, UK South Sales Director for Dandara, comments: “So many potential first time buyers stay living at home or waste money renting because they think they cannot afford to get onto the property ladder but Dandara really do work hard at getting new purchasers on the property ladder and Image is an excellent example where first time buyers can get more for their money and purchase a desirable property at an affordable price. The location and design of Image is perfect for first-time buyers, with all of the regeneration plans for Hemel Hempstead in the next few years, as well as the superb commuter connections into London there are definitely benefits of buying a property here as an investment for the future.”

Many of the apartments have balconies or terraces and offer spectacular views across Hemel Hempstead and the countryside beyond. Residents will also benefit from a car club, a concierge service and a peak hours bus service to Hemel Hempstead station for the exclusive use of Image’s residents.

Image is perfectly located for commuters. Hemel Hempstead station is just 0.7 miles away, from where regular trains to London Euston station take approximately 26 minutes and trains to Milton Keynes take approximately 30 minutes. The M1 and M25 are a short drive away, Luton airport is 12 miles from the development and Heathrow airport is 28 miles away.

Prices at Image start from £150,000. To make an appointment to attend the first time buyers workshop, or for more information on Image, visit: livetheimage.com
