Newlyweds find freedom at The Parks

When hotel workers Morne and Malgorzata Du Plessis decided to leave the cramped surroundings of their staff accommodation to find a new place to live, they never expected they would be able to afford to buy a home of their own.

Unable to save for a deposit, the young newlyweds assumed that the first rung of the property ladder would be well out of their reach and that renting was their only option.

But all that changed when they discovered Taylor Wimpey’s The Parks development in Bracknell, Berkshire. Taking advantage of the First Time Buyers Initiative (FTBI), funded jointly by the leading housebuilder and Government HomeBuy Agent Catalyst Housing Group, they were able to secure their very own one-bedroom apartment with a mortgage of only 50% of the purchase price.

Now settling into their brand new home after moving in December, Morne (32) and his 30-year-old wife’s lives have changed beyond recognition.

“The difference is amazing and we couldn’t be happier with our new place,” he says. “When we were living in staff accommodation, there was hardly any room for us to move – we had no kitchen and were forced to eat our meals sitting on our bed.

“Now we have our own open-plan kitchen, dining area and living room as well as a spacious separate bedroom and bathroom. We never thought we would be able to afford to buy a home but now we have our own private space and it’s fantastic.”

Although FTBI homes have now sold out at The Parks, selected homes at Taylor Wimpey developments across the West London region are available with a range of time and money-saving incentives, including help with deposits and legal fees for first-time buyers and assistance with finding a buyer for those with a property to sell.

Incentives can be tailored to customers’ individual requirements and are subject to availability, with further information available from the Sales Executive.

At The Parks, stylish two-bedroom apartments start from only £179,995, three-bedroom houses from just £254,995, four-bedroom houses from £334,995 and the magnificent detached five-bedroom ‘Willow A’ is priced from £479,995.

All new homes being constructed at the development are completed to a high standard specification, including double glazing, central heating and fitted kitchen with integrated oven, hob and hood.

The Parks benefits from a superb location just a mile from the shops, cafés, bars, restaurants and leisure facilities of Bracknell town centre, and a short distance from the railway station, which offers regular services to Waterloo and Paddington in only an hour, with the M3 and M4 each just a few minutes away by road.

Morne and Malgorzata appreciate that it is well placed for commuting to work in nearby Ascot, as well as enjoying its picturesque, leafy surroundings.

“It’s such a stunning development with all the trees and greenery surrounding you,” Morne says. “It is a lovely setting and by the time all the homes here have been completed, it is going to look absolutely fantastic.”

To find out more about the new homes now available at The Parks, visit the Sales Information Centre, located off Hawk Lane, Bracknell Forest, Bracknell, and open seven days a week from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
