Good news for house hunters in Maidstone

12th April 2010 Print

A range of two, three and four-bedroom houses will be released for sale during the launch of the first phase of the Sutton Woods development on St Catherine’s Road in Maidstone.

Taking place from 10am to 3pm on Saturday 24 April, the event will showcase the homes which are offered to purchase using New Build HomeBuy. This is a part-buy part-rent scheme which helps make home-ownership affordable for people who are struggling to get a foot on the property ladder.

A showhome will be open throughout the event and as well as a team from Orbit First Step, there will also be an independent financial adviser on hand to provide no-obligation advice if required.

Built by experienced housebuilders Redrow Homes, the houses include a modern fitted kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, gas central heating, carpets/vinyl flooring, a private garden and an allocated parking space.

Prices for the houses start at just £85,000 for a 50 per cent share of a 2 bedroom house. The 3-bedroom homes are available with minimum shares of 40 per cent, starting from £72,000, and the 4-bedroom properties are offered with a minimum 35 per cent share, which you can purchase from £82,250.

Sales and Marketing Manager, Diane Webster said: “New Build HomeBuy is a fantastic opportunity if you want to get a foot on the property ladder but can’t afford to buy a home outright. The scheme allows you to buy a share in a brand new property, paying a subsidised rent on the part you don’t own. You can then purchase further shares until eventually you own the property outright, if you choose to do so. An additional benefit of purchasing using New Build HomeBuy is that your deposit requirements will be far less than if you purchased outright.

“These are highly desirable homes and we are expecting a lot of interest in them, so if you are among the many people who still aspire to owning their own home and you could benefit from our help, please come along to our event and find out more.”

In addition to the houses, a further 17 apartments will be released during future phases on an Intermediate Rent basis.

If you have an annual household income less than £60,000 and are in need of an affordable home in the area, but are unable to attend this event, please contact Orbit First Step as soon as possible. They can quickly assess your eligibility and if you are accepted you’ll be one step closer to owning your very own home.
