First time buyers step onto the ladder in Birmingham

Buying your first home is a big step but with help from Redrow it doesn’t have to be hassle, as Gemma Roberts and Martin Fletcher discovered.
“After 18 months of dating, we decided the time was right to move in together but we weren’t keen on renting because it’s dead money. We looked around at apartments in Birmingham city centre and Jupiter really stood out from the rest in terms of quality and value for money,” Gemma explained.
“Some of the other places we looked at were more expensive but didn’t include things like carpets or mirrors. Jupiter was an easy option as everything was fitted for us and we could move in right away.”
Located in Sherbourne Street, within walking distance of Broad Street, Brindley Place and other city centre hot spots, Jupiter offers a contemporary mix of studios, apartments and penthouses, with prices starting from as little as £69,995.
“Although ours is only a one-bedroom apartment, it’s still quite large and has lots of storage space. The hallway’s big enough for a desk and a computer,” Gemma said.
She admits she was “utterly daunted” at the prospect of buying a home, particularly all of the paperwork that it involves.
“Redrow were fantastic. They kept us informed with what was happening,” Gemma commented. “I would definitely recommend buying a Redrow home. If there is a problem - such as the paintwork needing touching up because furniture was caught when we were moving in – they’ll do what they can to help. Redrow really look after you and make you feel that they really care.”
The Government-backed HomeBuy Direct scheme which helps first time buyers get onto the property ladder is available on selected apartments at Jupiter.
The scheme makes owning your own home more affordable by offering eligible customers an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price.
