Not only are all available Redrow homes in Ashford, Kent now exempt from stamp duty for first time buyers, but a Government-backed scheme means they can be purchased initially for just 70% of the asking price.

With a selection of two and three -bedroom homes priced below the new stamp duty threshold for would-be home owners, The Paddocks @ De Montford Park is already an attractive prospect for those stepping onto the property ladder.

But add to the mix that selected properties are available to purchase through HomeBuy Direct, providing homebuyers with an equity loan for up to 30% of the purchase price, then the homes represent an unmissable opportunity for first time buyers.

The equity loan is jointly funded by Redrow and the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) and is interest free for the first five years.

Beryl Williams, area sales manager for Redrow Homes (Eastern), said: “HomeBuy Direct (HBD) offers assistance to would-be homeowners and others whose annual household income is under £60,000.

“It’s a great way for those who might have previously thought they had been priced out of the market to get a foothold on the property ladder.

“The Paddocks is now in its final phase with only a limited number of homes remaining and, with these fantastic incentives to purchase, we don’t expect the homes to be around for very long.”

Among the homes available with HomeBuy Direct are the two-bedroom ‘Calder’ houses and the three-bedroom ‘Hardwick’ designs.

The Calder features two double bedrooms, a fully-fitted kitchen / dining room, separate lounge and a ground floor cloakroom. In addition it boasts the latest statement-making kitchen designs from Redrow and a modern bathroom with white suite and quality fixtures and fittings.

It’s a great home for couples, young professionals, friends sharing and young families Priced at £159,950, a Calder can be bought for an initial outlay of just £111,965 using the 30% equity loan.

Growing families in need of extra space will find the ‘Hardwick’ is an ideal home with its large lounge, combined kitchen/dining area and downstairs cloakroom all built around a central hallway. Upstairs are three-spacious bedrooms, an en suite to the master bedroom and a family bathroom.

This beautiful home is available from £205,950 or an initial outlay of just £144,165 using HomeBuy Direct. It’s also exempt from stamp duty for first time buyers thanks to the Government recently raising the tax threshold to properties over £250,000.

First time buyers, key workers and people re-entering the property market after a relationship break-up are among those who can apply for HomeBuy Direct – provided their annual household income is less than £60,000.

Customers own 100% of their home from day one – but only have to pay between 70 and 85% of the purchase price.

The Paddocks @ De Montford Park is situated approximately three miles from Ashford town centre. The town boasts two shopping centres with many popular high street stores, as well as a designer outlet centre on the outskirts, a popular market, restaurants, pubs and hotels.

Ashford also offers high speed train services to London in just 37 minutes, easy access to the M20, connecting to the M26 and M25 and, for those who like to travel further afield, the town enjoys fast links to the continent via the Eurostar at Ashford International station.
