Spring breaks at Kelling Heath Holiday Park

14th April 2010 Print

Kelling Heath Holiday Park, in North Norfolk, the perfect place to take the children for the Spring Half Term.

There’s something for everyone in the family to enjoy, with loads of activities such as scavenger hunts, art workshops, wildlife walks and ‘Xtreme’ cycling, with these events running throughout the spring and the summer season.

The self guided scavenger hunts, on 29th May and 5th June, are perfect for the whole family. Find a list of items around Kelling Heath to win a lucky dip prize. If you’re over 12 and an intrepid cyclist, sign up for ‘Xtreme’ bike riding on 4th June and practice your skills on the parks many cycle paths.

There are also a whole range of activities in the Acorn Events programme that link arts and crafts to the surrounding natural environment.

Why not take a walk around the beautiful heathland with resident wildlife expert Peter Walton for a Nightjar, heathland or spring wildlife walk, where you can see, hear and find out all about the diverse range of creatures that make their home at Kelling Heath? There are also sessions on moth trapping and identification, as well as bee, bat walks and pond dipping.

Sporting activities for Half Term include archery on 31st May for the over sevens and a table tennis tournament on 2nd June.

You can also come and take a self guided walk around Kelling Heath’s new specimen tree trail, where 25 trees have been planted, one for each year of the Timewell family’s ownership.

The park’s 25th Anniversary Trail, which was opened in 2009 by Botanist David Bellamy, is also a great way to find out more about what has been going on in the park over this time, making it one of the most interesting areas of outstanding natural beauty.
Staying at Kelling Hath over spring Half Term is ideal if you love touring or you want to pitch a tent. And why not make it a real family affair and bring the family dog too? Kelling Heath has expanded and landscaped its ‘dog’ friendly area, making holidaying with four legged friends even more fun.

Check the website for more details as all the events run throughout the summer season too.
