Greatest ever Alfa Romeo International Rally Milan 26-27 June

20th April 2010 Print

To mark Alfa Romeo’s Centenary celebrations, the Italian Alfa Romeo Register (RIAR) is organising a great international rally for Alfa Romeo enthusiasts worldwide. Collectors, club members or simply owners of current models are all invited. The event, supported by Alfa Romeo, will be taking place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 June in Milan, the city where the brand was founded on 24 June 1910.

The enrolled crews – the objective is to gather over 3000 names – will parade through the streets of the centre of Milan on the afternoon of 26 June. A statue donated by RIAR, (an association which brings together more than 1500 vintage Alfa owners), and by many enthusiasts worldwide, will be presented during a ceremony which takes place a few hours before the parade. Inspired by the famous Alfa Romeo 1900 Disco Volante, the statue was designed by Centro Stile Alfa Romeo with the collaboration of artist Agostino Bonalumi. An exclusive dinner and live music show will end the first day of the international rally.

On the morning of Sunday 27 June, all crews will take part in a record-breaking exhibition. Forming a very long line of Alfa Romeos, all bearing the characteristic

Biscione emblem, they will parade along the inner lane of the Milan ring road where they will be filmed from a helicopter. Guided tours will also be organised at the Alfa Romeo Museum in Arese for enthusiasts to get to know the brand which has played such a leading role in international automotive history.

Enrolling for the two-day event is easy: simply register at alfisti.com and complete the form in the Centenary section. All users registering with their own Alfa Romeo will receive a Centenary Kit.
