LV= adds new funds to insured pension fund platform
Life and pensions specialist LV= has announced that it will be adding eight new funds with Threadneedle to its insured pension fund platform.
The eight new fund links will join LV='s existing offering of 108 funds and will be available from April 2010. Three of the eight funds are PensionQ rated and will strengthen the fund choice in a number of sectors.
The new funds include the following (ABI sectors in brackets):
Absolute Return Bond (Specialist)
American (North American equities) - PensionQ rated
China Opportunities (Asia Pacific ex-Japan equities)
European Smaller Companies (Europe ex-UK equities) - PensionQ rated
Global Emerging Market Equity (Global Emerging Market equities)
High Yield Bond (Sterling High Yield) - PensionQ rated
Latin American (Global Emerging Market equities)
UK Equity Alpha Income (UK Equity Income)
Ray Chinn, LV= Head of Pensions & Investments, said: "LV= has linked with another strong brand and demonstrated that we are a company that keeps growing its fund range in a sensible way aimed at continuously striving to meet advisers' and clients' needs.
"Within the eight new funds we have added significant opportunity for potential investment gains from North America to China and Latin America. The funds also offer a highly competitive range of investment opportunities for advisers, thanks to the transparency and flexibility of the LV= Flexible Transitions Account. In addition, the funds will offer transparent pricing which is a benefit for clients, and also in line with the way the RDR seems to be pointing towards ‘unbundling'.
"The final piece of good news is that three of the funds will make our PensionQ ‘guided architecture' list, meaning that these are funds which have demonstrated strength and consistency when compared with their sector peer group."
Nick Winder, Head of Third Party Distribution at Threadneedle, said: "We're delighted to have so many of our funds selected to sit on the LV= platform and look forward to building our partnership with LV= in the future. We believe Threadneedle's recognised long term performance and breadth of funds on offer will make the job of the advisers visiting the platform easier."
