Covent Garden invites aspiring Rankins to make history

Whether it is a quick iPhone snap of ballerinas rushing to their rehearsals at the Royal Opera House or an image of a street performer standing with a chainsaw on his head (yes, we have one of those!) or you shopping with a friend, Covent Garden is inviting regular snappers, aspiring Rankins and Vogue-posing, Sartorialist-inspired grannies to submit their photographic memoires of the area to celebrate the 180th Anniversary of the Market Building and go down in history forever.

The Covent Garden Canvas will first be celebrated online via Flickr and the Covent Garden website (coventgardenlondonuk.com/canvas) where they will be exhibited in testimony to a place that is loved locally and remembered globally. The best images will then be transformed digitally to create a unique installation, to go on display in Covent Garden later this year.
