House hunters should act now if they want take advantage of the Government’s popular HomeBuy Direct shared equity scheme at developments across North East Lincolnshire.

The incentive – which allows customers to own 100 per cent of their new home but for just 70 per cent of the price – draws to a close in September 2010.

Reservations are now being taken on homes at a number of Stamford Homes developments, where the completion date is due around the time that the HomeBuy Direct scheme ends.

HomeBuy Direct is currently available on selected homes at Cleefield Court, Ferriby Rise and Renaissance in Grimsby, as well as at De Aston Park in Market Rasen and at Aspire in Louth.

The incentive has proved hugely popular with buyers across the board, and particularly with first time buyers and key workers.

The shared equity scheme allows customers to own 100 per cent of their brand new home for just 70 per cent of the price – giving them the opportunity they might have not otherwise had to own their dream home.

The remaining 30 per cent is met equally by Stamford Homes and the Government through a repayable loan, interest free for five years. And by using a recommended mortgage lender under the HBD initiative, there is also the possibility of no deposit to pay.

Stamford Homes sales director Steve Woomble, said: “We have already seen a high number of reservations through the HomeBuy Direct scheme, which gives first time buyers, key workers or people needing to upsize the opportunity select the home of their dreams at a price they can afford.

“However, time is running out for customers who want to take advantage of this scheme, as we are now taking the final reservations on home eligible under the HBD scheme.”
