Acer Aspire One 521 and 721 netbooks with AMD processors

Once again, Acer goes off the beaten track and pursues new paths in order to give users the kind of experience they are looking for. In this case, the company multiplies its offer and enriches its best-selling family of netbooks, debuting the first devices equipped with the new 2010 AMD HD Netbook Platform, designed to offer amazing entertainment on the go and longer battery life.

Users are increasingly focused on enjoying multimedia – listening to music, watching movies or playing games – and socio-entertainment – photos, shared web videos, web videos – wherever they go. They look for devices capable of offering a complete experience: ultra-portability, optimal performance and superb entertainment.

To meet these growing users’ needs, Acer has developed the Aspire One 521 and Aspire One 721, and equipped them with the 2010 AMD HD Netbook Platform engineered to deliver an uncompromised web experience to take advantage of today’s more visual digital universe.

The new netbooks come in two sizes, 28 cm (10.1”) and 29.5 (11.6”) and share a slim and light design making them the perfect fit for people always on the move. Both combine a sleek and stylish look with outstanding performance to help users enjoyably pursuing their computing needs.

What’s more, the Aspire One 521 and Aspire One 721 are full of surprises that make accomplishing any task, setting up video-conferences or simply chilling out a delightful experience. Now you can go beyond simple internet browsing to experience full high-definition video over the web. But that’s not all. The new netbooks integrate ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4225 Graphics to make sure you can enjoy smooth and flawless 3D computing, mainstream PC gaming, and boost the performance when editing or converting videos.

Everyday tasks, such as Internet browsing, streaming online HD video, emailing, chatting, photo viewing, document editing are efficiently performed by the AMD V-Series processor V105 that delivers multitasking capabilities, even with visually intense, high-definition applications. Up to 4GB of DDR3 memory further helps tackling even more demanding tasks.

With HD playback capabilities, these netbooks easily integrate into the home entertainment environment. And to provide a seamless experience, they are equipped with an HDMI port to easily connect to HDTV or video-projectors and share Hi-Def video content on a big screen at a larger 1080p resolution.

Available with Acer CrystalBrite LED backlit high brightness displays and 16:9 aspect ratio, the Aspire One 521 and 721 make the most of web chatting, browsing and video streaming. The Aspire One 721 can also be specified with HD 1366 x 768 (WXGA) panel resolution for maximum fun anywhere.

Multiple connection options, including Wi-Fi, LAN and optional 3G module or Bluetooth, maximise your mobile experience and keep you in touch with all you care about. And, to chat live, capture photos or video-conference there are the the built-in Acer CrystalEye webcam and digital microphone.

Just about the size of a magazine, the new Aspire Ones offer all the power you need in a thin and light design. The streamlined design is further enhanced by the innovative design of the battery pack that beautifully fits into the chassis. The big keyboard, for fast-paced comfortable typing is complemented by the multi-gesture touchpad, perfect for scrolling documents, rotating images, zooming and browsing, all with fingertip convenience.

These highly efficient netbooks are Energy Star v5.0 qualified and compliant with RoHS and WEEE EU directives, regulating the use and disposal of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. Plus, they are also mercury free and ensure 22.2% power savings compared with standard netbook displays, courtesy of the LED backlit panels.
