First time buyers seeking stylish, open plan living need look no further than the sought after iPad at Barratt’s Copper Quarter development in Swansea.

The chic, urban, one and two bedroom apartments are proving so popular that Barratt is launching the next phase at the sought after site imminently.

“Combining style with an exceptional feeling of space, our iPad apartments are designed to provide everything first time buyers are looking for in a brand new home,” said sales director, Adrian Bird. “Interest in our current phase has been overwhelming – so we are now offering more.

“The team here is very much looking forward to showing potential buyers all that these stunning homes have to offer. However, those looking to reserve an iPad need to be quick – we don’t expect them to be available for very long.”

Currently priced from £153,000, the iPad features a living and dining area with an open- plan fully fitted designer kitchen. The master double bedroom includes an en suite facility – and a private balcony provides even more space.

Adrian Bird says there is evidence of a shift away from renting – with more and more people jumping on to the property ladder. “There are schemes in place to make it easier for people to become first time buyers. And we are definitely seeing a change in the property market.”

Many potential buyers are put off taking their first step on to the property ladder because of the difficulty in raising initial finds to secure a mortgage and deposit on a home. With this is mind, Barratt offers a number of schemes designed to make the process more accessible.

Head Start is a shared equity scheme allowing a buyer to secure a home for just 85 per cent of the asking price. The remaining 15 per cent is funded through a deferred Barratt loan which is only payable when the home is sold again or in ten years – whichever is sooner.

“Many buyers have realised the dream of owning their own home for the first time by taking advantage of Head Start – so we are delighted to be able to offer the scheme here at Copper Quarter,” said Adrian Bird.

Copper Quarter is set in a riverside environment with landscaped areas for residents and walks along the River Tawe. Nearby Swansea, birthplace of poet Dylan Thomas and actress Catherine Zeta Jones, is a lively and vibrant maritime city and regional shopping centre.

And nearby, the Victorian resort of Mumbles offers a fantastic array of attractions including a pier, traditional boutiques, craft shops and ice-cream parlours.
